Overview

The Shipton history is complicated. Some families have a guardian angel. The Shiptons have a guardian ancestor who whizzes through the centuries and jumps right in whenever one of her girls is in trouble. All the girls have power and they're watched over by elder sister Lillian, who takes her job as family trouble shooter seriously. There's no shortage of trouble to be sorted out either and even with their own powers each of the girls needs help. First Katherine's oilman fiancé disappears in the Gulf of Mexico, and then Irene's world champion saddle bronc rider fiancé is sabotaged and in danger of being trampled by a bucking bronco. The spider-web of trouble stretching between these three modern sister witches might be too much for even a time-traveling guardian angel to handle on her own.

About the Author

Jude is the daughter of Lillian, granddaughter of William Shipton and according to legend and family folklore, both Lillian and William are direct descendants of {Ursula} {reputedly the witch known as Mother Shipton}. Jude loves all magic and is a proud follower of her magical ancestor.
As an author Jude has published the mystery/romantic suspense novels Deadly Secrets, Deadly Betrayal, Deadly Consequences and Deadly Lights. She’s also published the paranormal mystery novella Street Justice with John Wisdomkeeper
Mother Shipton and the Sister Witches is a collaborative work with author Gail Roughton based on fictional accounts of the lives of descendants of Ursula Shipton.

Gail Roughton is a native of small-town Georgia whose Deep South heritage features prominently in much of her work. She’s a retired paralegal who lived in a law office for over forty years, during which time she raised three children and quite a few attorneys. She kept herself more or less sane by writing novels and tossing the completed manuscripts into her closet, most of which have now emerged in published form. A cross-genre writer, her books range from humor to romance to thriller to horror and she’s never quite sure what to expect when she sits down at the keyboard. She usually has a project or two burning on the back burner but never talks about them for fear of jinxing herself. This should come as no surprise to anyone who knows her.

Time travel to solve a mystery and salvage relationships, destiny, and the ancestral lineage.
The time travel is fluid throughout the book; it's not like Katherine went back in time to decide if she'll stay there.
It's a tender romance; in the sense it's not red hot lust passion; most of the love scenes are off pages. Which also means it's deeper than a romance and strong with paranormal mystery.

I was expecting a time-travel of sorts, but this book is so much more. The lives of the Shiptons, plus a family friend, are guided by a time-hopping guardian angel. Mother Shipton, with her gift of prophecy, trips back and forth between the centuries as easily as we hop down to the shops. An exciting fun packed read.
