The text is clearly organized and includes indications for the use of the tests, reference standards, and interfering factors, to name a few. It is expected that the nurse/examiner uses standard precautions when collecting specimens. It is intended to provide a ready clinical reference for the selection and interpretation of laboratory tests. This text integrates physiological principles about the test or diagnostic procedures. It is targeted for practicing nurses and other healthcare professionals and faculty and students within these fields. This book is appropriate for primary, acute, and restorative healthcare settings. Positive features include the alphabetical listing of the tests and the well-done index. Each test is presented in a concise, consistent, and logical format.
