Mortar Magnets
It's the fall of 1968. Vietnam veteran Toby Carter is trying to put his experiences behind him while dealing with a failed relationship with a young Air Force enlisted woman. He thinks the war and the young woman are memories and closed chapters in his life. Then he gets orders back to the war, this time to a C-130 wing at Clark Air Base, Philippines where he arrives as the war is starting to decline from a peak in intensity. During the eighteen months since he last flew combat, the soldiers and Marines they kept supplied started calling the C-130s "mortar magnets." After he gets to Clark he has a great surprise that shows that his life has drastically changed; he just didn't know it.
