Ten poems, written between the years 2006 - 2009.

The title of the volume, 'Mongrel Meditation,' comes from a phrase in the first sonnet, which speaks of "mongrel dogs and clergy." 'Mongrel Meditation' does not contain poems specifically treating the subject of dogs. Many of the poems do, however, treat underdogs in society. Tenacity is celebrated, as it has proven to be a trait vital for survival of the individual in modern society.

The poems take time to truly understand, but I do hope they'll be enjoyable!

Allison Frey has lived on the east coast of America most of her life, and has been reading one book after another during that time!

The poet's favorite people in the literary world include C.S. Lewis, Kathleen Norris, and Ani Difranco.

Several trips to Latin America have increased Ms. Frey's interest in the Spanish language and in the literature of Hispanic authors such as Isabel Allende. <I>Mongrel Meditation</I> is her first work to be published.
