About the Author

She lives on the island of Maui in Hawaii. By her lanai is a plant called a Crown Flower Milkweed. This plant is what Monarch Butterfly caterpillars eat. She has watched, and photographed, over years how butterflies come to lay eggs, and how the caterpillars grow and become Monarchs. She believes this process can truly be called a miracle. The book was originally created for her 5-year-old granddaughter.
