What People are Saying About This

Rashid Naim

This is an excellent and invaluable training manual for participation in Model UN conferences at both the high school and collegiate levels. It systematically covers all aspects of preparation, from writing position papers to voting procedure. It is chock full of tips and strategies, which effective teams use at Model UN simulations. The author draws upon his years of experience in all aspects of the Model UN process—delegate, head delegate, committee director, and faculty advisor, to produce a comprehensive and self-contained handbook. All a team needs in addition to this book is training on country background for the country they represent.

Jill Dawson

Hodgin's Model UN Handbook fills a current void in the literature and provides a valuable resource for both Model UN advisors and delegates. Easy to navigate, it contains both understandable introductions to the UN system as well as Model UN. What is most resourceful is the fact that this book will serve as a great resource to the Model UN novice or the experienced delegate who can come back to it year after year to continue to deepen their knowledge on the subject.
