ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΟ Βιβλίο - Δυο παιδιά, στην διάρκεια κάποιας επιστημονικής εργασίας με υπολογιστές, συνδέονται τυχαία με μία μελλοντική κοινωνία όπου οι πολίτες έχουν εμφυτευμένο ένα microchip με πρόσβαση σε βιβλιοθήκη γνώσεων και μεταξύ τους επικοινωνία, αλλά ζουν κάτω από μία σιδηρά κρατική πειθαρχία. Μέσα από πλοκή, δράση, αστεία, ζωηρές δημοκρατικές συζητήσεις και με την βοήθεια εναλλακτικών φίλων τους, τα παιδιά θα δοκιμάσουν να ανακαλύψουν ποιά αλήθεια κρύβεται πίσω από την χρήση του microchip , την κοινωνική στρωμάτωση και να εξετάσουν τα προβλήματα της δημοκρατίας που προκύποτυν από την αλόγιστη υιοθέτηση της τεχνολογίας. Και από εκείνη την στιγμή η ζωή σε ένα μακρινό παράλληλο σύμπαν θα αλλάξει ριζικά.
Two young classmates, while working on a computer simulation, by chance link with two citizens of a futuristic Utopian society, where all of its inhabitants are implanted with a powerful but mysterious microchip which enables them to automatically access their vast knowledge base as well as to communicate among themselves.
This seemingly euphoric society is however regulated by the iron grip of the government. Does that necessarily lead to manipulation and exploitation? Is that society mature enough to take full advantage of the enhancement of the human brain?
As the story evolves, the relative ethical dilemmas and complications arising from interweaving technology with humans is examined through a series of plots, counter plots, humor, animated debates and standoffs.
With the help of some dissident companions, the kids will embark in a mission to overthrow this oppressive regime. At this moment in time, they unwillingly change the course of a distant and parallel universe.
Hunted by the seemingly beneficial government, they will uncover the true nature of the microchip and realize the potential downfalls of premature technological advancement. The will attempt to uncover the truth behind the government's iron grip, challenge the caste system and expose the citizens to the values of democracy.
All in the sake of a holiday science assignment.
