It is the story of an elderly couple, who because they are very lonely want the companionship of a cat. When the husband sets out to find one he finds more than just one, he finds millions. Unable to decide which one to pick as their pet he decides to bring home all of them. Realizing they are unable to care for all of them they must decided which one they will keep. “Millions of Cats” is a whimsical picture book which has enchanted readers ever since its first publication.

About the Author

Wanda Gág (1893-1946) was born in New Ulm, Minnesota, the daughter of an artist and the eldest of seven children. In recognition of her rare artistry, she was the posthumous recipient of the 1958 Lewis Carroll Shelf Award for Millions of Cats and the 1977 Kerlan Award for the body of her work.
