About the Author

Judith Miller began collecting in the 1960s while a student at Edinburgh University in Scotland. She has since extended and reinforced her knowledge of antiques through international research, becoming one of the world's leading experts in the field. In 1979 she co-founded the international best-seller Miller's Antiques Price Guide and has since written more than 100 books which are held in high regard by collectors and dealers.

This volume is broad, with considerable detail and thousands of photographs. The editor includes input from more than 40 contributors in areas from ceramics and silver to furniture, and styles from arts and crafts to midcentury modern. The index is comprehensive (clocks, dolls' houses, Hepplewhite style). Miller lists key facts and pricing estimates for many items. The glossary, bibliography, and listing of specialist sites will be useful to readers seeking depth in a specific area. VERDICT An excellent all-in-one manual for antiques and collectibles enthusiasts.
