About the Author

Eugene Matthews is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at Lincoln University of Missouri. He currently serves as the Chair for the Center of Innovative Instruction as well as the Safety and Security Advisory Committees. A retired Special Agent with the U.S. Army CID, his work has predominantly focused on Law Enforcement training which has encompassed the full spectrum of police operations. His primary interests are leadership training and development and law enforcement technology. Mr. Matthews is also an active member of the Center for Homeland Defense and Security; the International Association of Crime Analysts and the International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysis. This is his third published work, and the second under the theme of leadership.
