Men of Phuket: Tongue-Thai'd
Nat is supposed to protect Ryu, not go to bed with him. Ryu s raw sensuality, however, is irresistible and Nat succumbs, body and heart. Unfortunately, Ryu is also irresistible to the psychopathic gangster who wants him for his own and will stop at nothing to get him...

Ryu Miyazaki is a White Tiger, a man skilled in the erotic arts. His kisses and caresses can make men see twinkling lights in the midst of ecstasy. But when Taro Suzuki, one of Tokyo's fiercest yakuza wants Ryu as his personal pleasure slave, Ryu's mentor sends Ryu into hiding. With his life in grave danger Ryu, agrees to leave his home, only to be delivered into the hands of Agent Nat Phoenix, one of the sexiest men he's ever met.

From their first meeting, middleweight boxing champion-turned cop, Nat, can t believe he s turned on by a man with hot pink dyed hair, nose ring and full body tattoos. In the face of doing his job, he s determined to ignore his fierce attraction to the exotically beautiful Ryu. As Ryu s expert lovemaking skills uncover Nat s deepest secrets, Ryu, too finds himself growing vulnerable to the ex-champion s masculine strength and emerging ability to love. Accustomed to being in control in bed, Ryu's heart is following his body into love... But it s going to take more than skilled fighting and courage to survive. How far will Nat be willing to go to keep the man he loves?

Excerpt:

Ryu Miyazaki, age 27, height: 5 foot 7 inches, mother Mali Miyazaki, native of Bangkok, Thailand, Father, Naboru Miyazaki...

Nat re-read that last line, still disbelieving. Naboru Miyazaki, the WBA welterweight champion? Sure, it had been almost three decades since the boxer's illustrious career had ended, but one fighter never forgot a predecessor. He shook his head. What made a professional athlete turn to crime? According to the notes before him, Miyazaki was pretty high up in the Suzuki-gumi, by reputation one of Tokyo's fiercest and most prevalent crime families. True, winning most of your fights didn't guarantee an easy ride afterward. Life still went on. If anyone knew that, Nat did. But the yakuza? No good.

He sighed and looked again at the photo of Miyazaki's son, included in the faxed over materials. Nat could definitely see the guy's resemblance to his father, well, except for the hot pink spiky hair and nose ring.

"Don't you get sick reading in a car, Phoenix?"

Nat looked up.

Agent Tongmee chuckled. "Just wondering." There was an amusement in the younger man's eyes that made an uncomfortable heat in Nat's cheeks, as if he'd been staring a drop too long at the photograph. Nat sensed a hint of resentment. Tongmee hadn't been thrilled about being taken off the human trafficking detail in Bangkok to do what he considered babysitting the brat offspring of a yakuza, especially one who was coming to them from what appeared a gay men's hotel, or something like that. Tongmee's brother had been gay and died recently of AIDS, and Tongmee, still bitter, hadn't grasped the notion that you didn't need to hate an entire population of people who weren't at fault for such a tragedy. Unfortunately for Tongmee, he was one of the only agents in the Naresuan 261 fluent in Japanese.
Nat closed the dossier and glanced out the window. They were on the Phahon Yothan road now and he could see Don Muang Airport in the near distance. The hot tropical sun flashed off its modern glass towers. He shifted slightly in his seat. No wonder Tongmee had remarked.

How long had he been absorbed in studying the file?

"Remind me again why a counter-terrorism unit of five men is needed to protect this brat?"

Nat suppressed a sigh. Briefly he wondered if there was some bad karma he'd earned to end up with Tongmee in his command. "I wasn't told everything." Tongmee knew that. Why make him go over it again? "The son of the main boss has threatened him and a diplomat in Tokyo arranged all this to protect him."

Tongmee made a scoffing sound. "Whatever they say."

Nat looked at him then back out the window. Tongmee didn't need to know that Ryu Miyazaki had refused to take a fall for Suzuki in a fight. However, the situation from there got murky. Why send him to Thailand? And how was it that a Japanese diplomat went to all this trouble to protect Miyazaki, mobilizing any number of agents and going to the cost of transporting him here to be protected by the same agents used to guard the Thai royals and foreign ambassadors when they travelled in Thailand?
