About the Author

Matthew Parij is an autistic person, a Broadcasting Enthusiast, a Broadcasting History Enthusiast, and a Ham Radio Operator; who while living in the 2020’s; very strongly feels that he never belonged in the late 1990’s or the entire duration (to date) of the 21st Century. Matthew also very strongly feels that he belongs in the 1970’s, 1980’s, and early 1990’s. Furthermore, Matthew also very strongly wishes that things would eternally and forevermore remain the same as they did during the 1970’s, 1980’s, and early 1990’s. Last, Matthew is very fearful of moving further into the future as these aforementioned times that he very strongly feels he belongs in become further and further away in the past as time continues to move on.
Allen Shaw, formerly the Vice President, and later the President of ABC's owned and operated FM Radio Stations; and presently the Owner of the Radio Station Ownership Group Centennial Broadcasting II; began his career in Radio in 1959 at WGTO-AM; and WRWB-AM. While attending College at Northwestern University, Allen had appeared on locally-produced Talk and News & Information Shows produced and aired by CBS Owned & Operated Television Station WBBM-TV in Chicago. Also, while residing in Chicago; Allen had worked at WCFL-AM as an Assistant to the Program Director. It was from WCFL-AM where Allen was hired by ABC Radio employee Ralph Beauxdine (who was originally from Nebraska) to originally serve as the head of what was known as ABC's Special Projects Division, where and when Allen had developed the Automated 'Love' Format for each of ABC's seven Owned & Operated FM Radio Stations (WABC-FM, KABC-FM, WXYZ-FM, WLS-FM, KGO-FM, KXYZ-FM, and KQV-FM); and hired John Rydgren in the process to serve as the lone announcer for this pre-recorded Automated Format that would be recorded on a form of Media at ABC Headquarters in New York City, and shipped to each of ABC's Owned & Operated FM Radio Stations for them to air locally. In 1970, Allen had discontinued the Automated 'Love' Format, instituted a Live, Disc Jockey-oriented Progressive Rock Format (where the Disc Jockeys were given the freedom to play whatever they wanted just as long as it was Hard Rock music); and Allen, himself had hired several Disc Jockeys to work at each of ABC's Owned and Operated FM Radio Stations. In 1971, Allen had changed the Call Letters of each of ABC's FM Stations; and worked with Bob Henabury to craft the Album Rock Forma
