About the Author

Growing up in a family of eight children, the daughter of a proud potato farmer in the town of Ashland in Aroostook County, Maine, Martha Stevens-David desired to be a writer since the age of nine. It was only when she was teaching English as a second language in Taipei, Taiwan in 1982, that she began writing. Now, nearly thirty years later, her work has finally come to fruition with the publication of her first book in June 2011, “Autobiography of a Simple Soul.”
Martha writes in what is called the “northern Maine dialect.”
