Memoirs of an Antique/Junk Dealer

After working 30 years in the business of antiques and collectibles, i'm still dazzled by the prices paid for items many people consider junk - half a million dollars for a beat-up side table, six hundred thousand dollars for an old tobacco hockey card, one million dollars for a comic book.

Every year, millions of dollars are being lost and made by people selling and buying at garage sales, moving sales, estate sales, flea markets, thrift shops and antique shops throughout North America.

Every year, a small fortune in historical artifacts and collectibles end up in trash cans and landfills.

I have spent close to three decades buying and selling other people's cast-offs.
