Overview

Mayo Clinic Challenging Images for Pulmonary Board Review is a collection of over 150 entities selected from over 1,500 examples of very unusual intrathoracic conditions, spanning more than 45 years of service by a highly respected clinician. Appropriate images of all these conditions are shown along with the "pearls" of how to interpret the chest x-ray and other images. As the old adage says, 'a picture is worth a thousand words,' so by spending a few minutes, or less, on each of the 100+ conditions, the reader won't forget what he or she saw, thereby possibly saving the patient expensive, sometimes invasive, surgeries. This will be indispensable resource for every pulmonologist, thoracic surgeon, and radiologist.

About the Author

Dr. Rosenow has spent his entire academic career at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, where he was the chairman of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Division, one of the largest in the country. One of his fortes is the teaching of the interpretation of chest images to non-radiologists. As a result, he has collected over 1500 teaching films, many of which were converted to digital images to be used for teaching purposes. He is past-president of the American College of Chest Physicians, past member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, writing committee for pulmonary diseases, and an expert in Drug Induced Pulmonary Disease.
