About the Author

After writing seven family history books printed just for her family, Margaret Salisbury set out to write a mystery book after the novel coronavirus pandemic hit. Mayhem In Cambridge is the first in what the author hopes will be a series set in small towns in Wisconsin, where she lives with her husband of 56 years. Writing is something Margaret is not unfamiliar with. She still has a collection of her early writings from her high school years, where she was in the journalism club and her high school, and TCU honors English classes. Writing took a back seat when she decided to become a nurse and joined the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. During her three years of service, she taught corpsmen going to Vietnam and primarily wrote classroom presentations. She gained her education to become a certified teacher graduating from UNT with her ATTD.
Since then, she has written a variety of genres—classroom lesson plans both for the University of North Texas as well as for the State of Texas. Health Sciences classes were her main focus. Being the wife of a minister, she has enjoyed a variety of jobs—Lamaze Teacher, teaching for Houston Organization for Psychoprophylaxis in Labor and Delivery, teaching Lamaze in Denton, Texas, working as a nurse for the Mental Health Mental Retardation for five years, school nurse and teaching Health Occupations for Abilene ISD. Along with all that, she had a highly active role in her husband’s ministry and rearing two wonderful sons. Retirement happened just shortly before moving from Texas to Wisconsin. She now lives in a vibrant senior living facility in Madison, WI, and is enjoying getting back to writing mysteries.
