About the Author

Dr. Angela Kay Kepler, a naturalized New Zealander, was born in Australia in 1943. A field naturalist, environmental consultant, writer and photographer, she has authored or co-authored 17 books, numerous scientific publications and technical reports, and written regular newspaper columns on biological and cultural aspects of the Hawaiian Islands. An energetic, award-winning photographer, backpacker, birdwatcher, ecologist, adventurer and teacher, she has visited wilderness areas/national parks in nearly 90 countries.
