About the Author

Sarah Jane Gross is an attorney, educator, and writer with a research interest in 19th century literature, history, and ancestry. In addition to publishing works of historical fiction and nonfiction, she has published articles of legal scholarship in academic and professional journals. She has spent a good portion of her life on a college campus. After graduating from high school, she lived on campus at the University of California, Davis in northern California, where she graduated with a Bachelor's in English and Expository Writing. After graduation, she stayed on to receive a teaching credential and Master's in Education and taught middle school and high school English. She then pursued further education, and received a law degree from Chapman University School of Law and a Master’s in Law/Dispute Resolution. She loves writing and teaching, and after researching her own ancestry, she was inspired to write Mathias Mount: A Civil War Solider; The Forgotten Mountbatten.
