Description: This is the ninth edition of a comprehensive and historic resource for the provision of maternal child nursing care. The previous edition was published in 2018. The book is published in both hard copy and digital formats, with substantial electronic resources for both students and educators.
Purpose: Per the editor, changes to this edition are based in part on feedback to previous editions and with deference to the challenging evolution of maternal child nursing care in recent years.
Audience: The newest edition is structured in a way to provide a continuum of learning across the maternal child nursing spectrum. It is targeted to pre-licensure nursing students but will serve as a valuable foundational resource for all nurses providing care to the identified patient population. Content contributors represent expertise in both clinical nursing scholarship and nursing research. The contributors are well qualified to provide accurate and timely guidance on the provision of maternal child nursing care.
Features: Chapter content is reinforced with robust use of high-quality graphics and pictures and tied to Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) questions and personal patient story "boxes."
