About the Author

With Masterpieces of Costume Jewelry, Joanne Dubbs Ball and Dorothy Hehl Torem have now completed their third book together. Both have an intense interest in the jewelry industry, in which Dorothy has been involved for many years as a designer of jewelry and related accessories. Their mutual interests revolve around many diverse areas, including fashion, fragrance bottles, and other feminine acoutrements. Both are avid collectors, and their combined knowledge has proven to be a valuable asset in their partnership endeavors. Individually, each is involved in related freelance projects, Joanne (in partnership with her husband Bob) as a monthly column contributor to Collector's Magazine, and Dorothy as a staff photographer and contributor for Lady's Gallery magazine. A native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Joanne Ball resides in the Farmington Valley area of Connecticut. Dorothy Torem lives in Rhode Island and New York City. Consequently, their almost daily communications have been a source of much delight and added revenue for their respective telephone companies.
