About the Author

Six years ago, I remember seeing my parents struggling to make ends meet; not being able to buy the things they wanted because of poor credit. Then the Great Recession hit the U.S. and our problems became even worse. I began hearing more and more from my Mom and Dad about how they mismanaged their finances and credit but I did not understand what they were talking about. Finally, at the age of 18 three years ago, I sat down with my Dad and he started to explain to me what "credit" was and how they had failed to handle their financial affairs properly and how 'bad credit' caused my parents to suffer needlessly in this bad economy. I began doing my own research and found out that there was no one source of information on what 'credit' was, how to find it and what to do if you had bad credit and wanted to correct it. Soon, I began to understand there was a need for a comprehensive, up-date and down-to-earth book on 'credit'. Not some graduate course on finance and world monetary issues but the basic, need-to-know stuff on 'credit'. So, with my parents help and guidance (now that they had finally corrected their credit and put their finances in order), I began to write "Mastering Your Credit - 2012" to help the average consumer, like me, understand, review, correct and improve their credit.
