Peterson's has divided the high school entrance exams into two guides, making it critical that librarians determine whether students in their area are likely to take the HSPT, COOP, TACHS, SSAT, or ISEE tests. This guide lists the topics that are included in each of the covered tests (SSAT and ISEE): vocabulary, verbal ability, reading, mathematics, and writing. One diagnostic test and four additional practice tests are supplied. Special sections for parents cover why they might choose a private school, factors to consider, and funding private schooling. The "Private Schools At-a-Glance" appendix is far from complete and should be used only as a starting point for searching. The glossary has a list of synonyms.
