Marthe Regnier was a French actress and dress designer who came to prominence in her roles in Manon (1910) and Mayerling (1936). She also dated men of prominence and power like Baron de Rothschild and Murellini, the Brazilian ambassador to France. She was a woman who was very much ahead of her time with her establishment of an atelier in Paris. With this move she began a hat and fashion business that became world renowned. The combination of acting and fashion design endeared her to people as a versatile and talented woman.
