Robert Farmer
currently lives in Evans, GA, a suburb of Augusta. He keeps busy as a freelance trombonist, arranger, composer, conductor, and author.

In addition to devotions published by Christian Devotions.com and The Upper Room, he has also published three inspirational e-books for men: In Pursuit of Godly Character, Everything I Need to Know about Being a Follower of Christ, I Learned from My Drill Instructor, and Righting the Ship - Living an Upright Life in an Upside-down World.

In his own words, “I seek nothing more than to honor God with the gifts He has given me.”

Born in Mississippi and a trombone player from an early age, he is a retired Marine Corps Band Officer/Conductor with compositions and arrangements that have been performed throughout the United States, Canada, Korea, Greece, Turkey, Japan, and Australia.

As an active duty Marine Musician, he served with the 2nd Marine Division Band, Camp Lejeune, NC, Quantico Marine Band in Quantico, VA, III Marine Expeditionary Force Band, Okinawa, Japan, Marine Forces Reserve Band, New Orleans, LA, and Marine Forces Pacific Band, Kaneohe Bay, HI.

Following retirement from the Marine Corps, he served as Associate Minister of Music, Spotswood Baptist Church, Fredericksburg, VA as the Orchestra Director where he also developed a community orchestra (Spotswood Community Orchestra) which performed benefit concerts raising nearly $100K for the hungry and homeless in the Fredericksburg area.

He holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in performance (trombone) from Delta State University (1978), Cleveland, MS, and a Master of Arts (composition) from George Mason University (1994), Fairfax, VAs. He is married to the former Pamela Mosely of Cleveland, Mississippi. They have two interesting children: Carla and Robert, and three even more interesting grandchildren, Braden, Ainsley, and Jace.
