Overview

The rapid advancement of mankind's civilization and the constant stream of new developments is surely a wonder. Unfortunately, there are unpaid costs left from this mammoth pursuit of material prosperity: The devouring of our planet's resources, the pollution of the air and water, and the incessant spread of human poverty and suffering, all continue with seemingly little concern from those who have the power, wealth, and greatest influence. I have put together in this book a selection of my artworks that reflect the unbalanced aspirations that dominate our civilization, and their impact on our environment and people.

About the Author

From a young age, Kevin (a.k.a. GK) Falwell, was drawing and painting. His sixth-grade teacher Mr. Telford introduced to him weighty concepts including a deep concern for the environment and an awareness of the power centers within our civilization. These were further developed by the influences of his two older brothers Rick, and Gary, with whom he also shared a special sense of humor.

At age seventeen he began attending Virginia Commonwealth University majoring in fine arts. After two years he became worried about making a sufficient living and put art aside to find work that would pay more reliably. Kevin then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Information Systems while working for General Electric. He continued pursuing technology-related careers and married his beautiful and caring wife, Glenda. Together they have three amazing children.

Over the years, Kevin continues to contemplate making art, and he has more ideas he would like to work on.
