About the Author

I have always been interested in the Orient. I was so happy when I first started learning Chinese - long-distance lessons with the Open University. I continued my studies at a local language centre and decided while using the course books that a simplified dictionary containing nothing but the vocabulary from the course books, would help me focus my time on the new words I needed to learn, without going off on a tangent every time I found an interesting, but unneeded word in my regular dictionary. I hope my mini dictionary will help learners.
