N.S. SREENIVASAN, after obtaining his Master's Degree in Statistics from the University of Mysore, joined SQC and OR Division of the Indian Statistical Institute in 1956. He was extensively involved in consulting work related to Management of Quality in a large number of industrial as well as service organisations like hospital, transport. In 1975, he joined M/s IDL Chemicals Ltd. He had several key assignments as Manager (QC), Manager (Safety), Production Manager, Works Manager, Chief Executive of the explosives manufacturing unit at Rourkela and now General Manager (Planning, Research and Development). He has published a number of papers on diverse subjects like Quality, Safety, Personnel, Innovation and General Management in a number of national and international journals. His book on ‘Management of Safety — Concepts and Tasks' published in 1984 has very well been received and had an extremely favourable review from several national and international journals. He is a founder-member of Indian Association for Quality and Reliability and an active member of Quality Circle Forum of India, Hyderabad Chapter.
V. NARAYANA after obtaining Master’s degree in Statistics from the University of Mysore, joined the Statistical Quality Control and Operations Research Division of the Indian Statistical Institute in 1956. Since then he has been involved in promotion training and consultancy in applications of Quality Management and SQC techniques in a number of different types of industries — Engineering, Pharmaceuticals, Textiles etc. He has been guest faculty at programmes organised by Administrative Staff College of India, Engineering Staff College of India, National Institute for Small Industry Extension Training, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University etc. He is a founder member of the Indian Association for Quality & Reliability and Quality Circle Forum of India.
