About the Author

Being a teacher and a mother I used to tell and write stories for my kids since they were young. They are now grown ups, and pushed me to publish these stories so all kids would be able to enjoy them.
We like working together in the family, so my daughter Allison started to draw the main characters and my husband, Thomas, who is also a painter, drew and painted all the illustrations using water colors.

The Tales of the Garden is a collection of stories about vegetables and were written with the aim of making kids love and eat them.
Hope you and your kids will enjoy the stories. I would love to hear from all of you who have read them.

Painter:
Thomas Ahl was born in Sweden, in the Lake District, where nature and the northern light are the most intense. Falling in love with France, he came to live in Paris where he has been living since. The artistic heritage of France and Paris in particular, the beauty and aesthetics that permeate it are a source of permanent inspiration. Passionate about drawing and painting, he is a self-taught and curious artist, fan observer of life around and is inspired by renowned artists and great masters. He is also attentive to the trends and evolution of artistic fields and his environment.

His main interest is people. The human being fascinates him, with his multitude of facets, moods, way of expressing himself, his ways of interacting with the world around him and solving the situations of life. All this abundance of energy is for him an endless inspiration.

Thomas is definitely a colorist: using a range of restricted colors in his work, were they establish the equilibrium and put in place the basics. From there the characters and the drawing can be created. His sense of color harmony is linked to a creative and poetic power to offer us a gallery of strong and dynamic images.

His imagination blossoms in a surprisingly personal atmosphere where the freedom of the lines brings out characters from nowhere, giving a unique energy to his art.

The artist plays with spontaneity his score on various themes where the imagination always prevails.

A figurative and abstract combination of shapes and colors, Thomas Ahl's painting is a journey between dream and reality: an open door to the imaginary.
