Overview

In his own well chosen words, Tallis Steelyard reveals to us the life of Maljie, a lady of his acquaintance. In no particular order we hear about her bathing with clog dancers, her time as a usurer, pirate, and the difficulties encountered when one tries to sell on a kidnapped orchestra. We enter a world of fish, pet pigs, steam launches, theological disputation, and the use of water under pressure to dispose of foul smelling birds. Oh yes, and we learn how the donkey ended up on the roof.

About the Author

Well I’ve farmed in South Cumbria all my life, milked cows for thirty years, run a suckler herd and reared calves. Then life went and afflicted me with sheep.

As well as that I’ve been a free-lance journalist, mainly covering agricultural issues, as well as being the CLA’s national livestock adviser for about ten years.

I’ve also had four fantasy novels published in paperback and innumerable novellas of a similar length to this short collection of stories.

To round this off I’ve got a wife and three daughters, and in spite of this, no dress sense whatsoever.

I’ve never been able to keep a diary, but over recent years I’ve written two blogs. One for Tallis Steelyard

https://tallissteelyard.wordpress.com/

The other covers my dogs, quads, and general farm life.   https://jandbvwebster.wordpress.com/
