About the Author

Elizabeth Granados was born in Mexico and came to America when she was eight years old. Her inspiration to publish this book was her kids. She wants them to know that you can achieve anything you want only if you really want it. The author first wrote this story when she was in middle school back in 1993, when she was in 8th grade. The reason why she wrote the story was because the school had a writing contest and she entered to win. Her story was one of the ones that were selected to win $2,500.00. Half of the money was to be given to the students after promotion day from middle school and the remaining of the money would be given once they graduated from high school. In 1995 she received a certificate of participation from “Nancy Taylor Rosenberg’s Voices of Tomorrow Writing Contest” this was when she was in 10th grade. In June 9, 1997, she received another certificate and the money from Orange County Federal Credit Union who was the bank that was chosen by Nancy Taylor Rosenberg. In 02.01.2015, the author decided to publish this story that changed her life for good and will forever be thankful to everyone who made this contest possible.
