Jake was born the son of a common laborer and grew up on the mean streets of the Empire’s worst slum, M’TK. Despite that, his father was able to instill a sense of worth and integrity within Jake that the streets could never beat out of him. M’TK did teach Jake when to fight and when to run and when he learned the army was coming to burn the slum, together with his father, they saved the people who lived there. Standing on a ridge above the city, watching his home burn, Jake knew something inside him had changed. Myth has it that was the birth of the M’TK Sewer Rat, a title of respect from those he served and fear from those he fought.
His childhood made him tough; the university made him a lawyer. After years of blood, sweat, and tears, Jake found himself working as a lowly prosecutor in the Emperor’s Court harassing an endless parade of drunks and prostitutes. Then the murder of a fisherman’s daughter catapults Jake to the center of a political fight that will bring the Empire to its knees.
