When he got back to the living room she had curled herself up into a tight ball by squeezing her legs to her chest with her arms and was at one end of the couch. By reading the expression on her face he could tell she was working her way through her head somewhere. Even if she didn’t tell him everything, she was somehow coming to grips with it herself. After pouring them a glass of wine he took his seat and watched her.

Suddenly her expression changed and she sat up straight. Sometimes it is easier to talk to a stranger than it is to your best friend. He was not sure where he fit in to that equation, only now she looked like she was ready to talk.
