Lviv, Ukraine Travel Guide - What To See & Do
Our illustrated travel guide will take you to Lviv, Ukraine.

Lviv (also known as Lvov, its Russianized name used during Soviet era) is in Western Ukraine and used to be the Capital of East Galicia. Lviv is the biggest city of the region and a major Ukrainian cultural center. The historic city center is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Its tourist potential is relatively undiscovered because infrastructure is rather undeveloped and most people don't speak foreign languages except for Polish and Russian. This is changing among young people, some of whom will speak English.

Nevertheless, visiting Lviv is very rewarding for the pioneering traveller, as life is inexpensive here and the place has a truly authentic feeling, unlike places like Krakow or Prague, which are filled with tourists.

Finding Internet access when out and about can be problematic so carry your mobile guidebook in the palm of your hand. We include a fully linked Table of Contents and internally to access context-specific information quickly and easily when offline. Many web links are included as well for additional information.
