Overview

A collection of stories written by Lula of her life as a rescue Chessie with special needs. 49 pages of stories and photos of Lula’s best adventures including her famous stories: “The Thanksgiving Lula Ate the Turkey”, "Why Does Your Dog Have Wheels?", "Strike Three and I'm In" and many more…

Share the story of this very unique special needs, senior rescue dog. While Lula is very unique, her plight is not. There are thousands of senior and/or special needs dogs around the country looking for a loving home to live their final days surrounded by love and companionship. Get to know Lula and you will fall in love with the life and love an older special needs dog can bring to your life – not all of them have her “adventuresome” spirit!

Lula is a permanent foster of the Chesapeake Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin. All of the proceeds from the sale of this book will benefit the Chesapeake Rescue of Wisconsin to care for Lula and all of the Chessies looking for their forever homes.

About the Author

Lula is a permanent resident with the Chesapeake Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin
(www.crrow.org) due to her medical conditions and her age. She is about 10 years old, 113 lb. with severe hip dyslpasia and 2 ruptured ACL’s. She is not a surgery candidate due to her size, age and disposition (she is not a good patient but otherwise a very loving and outgoing dog). Lula has proven to be an excellent spokesdog for the Chessie breed and herself. All proceeds from her book and donations to her Medical Fund are used to keep her happy and comfortable.

Pam Culver is Lula's foster mom and volunteer for the Chessie Rescue of WI. Pam is a marketing consultant, small business owner and marketing instructor at Western Technical College. Pam has always had dogs and a variety of other animals. She got her first Chessie in the late 1980's and when Marley died, she began fostering dogs. Lula was her first Chessie foster. She continues to foster other Chessies and tends to get the trouble makers. So far all of her other Chessie fosters have gone on to forever homes. Lula will stay with Pam forever since she is deemed unadoptable and hopelessly attached to Pam.
