About the Author

Rhonda always wanted to write greeting cards and remembers writing her own verses inside greeting cards she bought as a child. Later, wanting to become a hit songwriter, she called Local 802, the musician's union. Lenny Calderone answered and helped her find someone to write music to her six poems. After several calls, Lou Toby, a musical director agreed to a consultation. They met and he tore her work apart telling her that a song is like a composition. It has a beginning, a middle and an end. If she wasn't serious, she would never have gone back the following week with re-writes. They met weekly for two months and continued via snail mail for two years. He taught her how songs are structured and even though she didn't become a songwriter, his lessons were invaluable to her love letter writing years later.

Rhonda lives in NYC and has an MS Degree in Social Research from Hunter College.
