Love and Terror in the Middle East, 5th Edition
The book is about facing hostility and passing through a maze of walls and checkpoints in Israel and the West Bank to lead interfaith activities. They are aimed at easing the region's bloody path to peace. Many people have expressed interest about his present interfaith activities in Israel and Palestine.

This 5th Edition includes a new chapter (Epilogue 1) about his recent experiences, in September 2018, trying to defend a Bedouin village "Khan al-Ahmar" in the West Bank. To prevent its destruction by Israeli forces, he and other activists stepped in front of a bulldozer. He was subsequently arrested, imprisoned in Jerusalem and then deported to France.

He is a retired professor at the University of Paris and a member of the California and French Bars. My passion, however, is being an in-your-face peace activist, organizing interfaith peace groups & demonstrations in the Middle East in view of helping to bring peace there.

The following provides a summary and more information about the book:

This is a true story about Romano's arduous journeys between Israel and the West Bank, discussing issues and organizing activities among religious and national groups. Traveling between these areas has been risky: He's been harassed and arrested by the Palestinian police, harassed by Israeli soldiers and attacked by West Bank settlers.

"I wrote this book to share with a wide audience my belief in the possibility of peace through grassroots activities in Israel and Palestine, Romano explains. A lot of the Middle East conflict is due to misunderstanding and lack of communication among religious groups, so I want to encourage people to begin organizing in their own communities to help break down those barriers."

In July, 2007, he spoke at a conference at Cardiff University, England, at a conference entitled "Theory, Faith, Culture" on the following topic: "Confrontation between Fundamentalists and Universalists in the New Age of Religious Freedom". He then gave a power point presentation about that book and interfaith activities at the Mid-Manhattan Library in New York City on October 13, 2007.

In addition, on January 4th, 2008, Brady Douglas and Jennifer Kielman, News Anchors, of NBC Channel 56 on KETK interviewed him during a 5 O'clock News broadcast, in particular about the situation in the Middle East. On the same subject he was interviewed on September 2nd, 2008 by Wilson Stribling (following his interview of Haley Barbour, the governor of Mississippi), the news anchor of WLBT TV, one of Mississippi's premier TV stations.

He was then interviewed about my first book, "Storm Over Morocco", on Sept. 5th, 2008, by Kai Jackson, Eyewitness News anchor, WJZ-TV, CBS Corp., Baltimore, MD. It is one of the largest network-owned station groups in the country. It was taped on Sept. 5, 2008, at 10:30 am EST and Broadcasted on Sept. 14th, at 6:30 EST.

He was later interviewed live by FOX NEWS 26 and FOX 4 NEWS, Houston September 4th and Kansas City September 6, 2008 respectively and was a participant during a panel discussion concerning spiritual issues broadcasted live by a Houston Time Warner television station.

In 2009, he was interviewed live by hosts Lauren and Rebecca on -I'll Make You a Star- Manhattan Neighborhood Network, MNN, New York City, Channel 56 (Time Warner Cable 56). It was broadcasted live from Manhattan on Tuesday, June 9th, at 11:20 pm.
