Long Night Moon
In New York City, at a time of great changes, a disillusioned young woman seeks escape from the broken civilization she has become trapped in. The untimely death of her estranged father casts doubt on everything she thought she knew about her family and a disquieting inheritance falls into her unsteady hands. Puzzling discoveries are made at her ancestral home, ultimately leading her into an untamed wilderness seeking answers to her mounting questions. Once there, she is drawn toward an ancient Native American shrine where her arrival is eagerly awaited and all is not what it seems. A trio of diverse companions make the trek at her side: James; a drug-addled New Yorker struggling to be reborn, Danielle; a free-spirited California girl whose love knows no bounds, and Kevin; a thick-skulled, thick-skinned good ol' boy from the hills of upstate New York. Though each of them joins the expedition for reasons of their own, it is not long before a greater purpose emerges. It quickly becomes apparent that the power of choice is both a blessing and a curse as the supernatural journey of self-discovery takes a deadly turn. The adventurers are forced to evolve or die in a confrontation with an antediluvian terror, even as they strive to discover their roles in the continuing evolution of mankind and the uncertain future that lies ahead. One thing alone is certain: the changes taking place within them have an external counterpart, and the world they left behind is not the world the survivors will return to.

About the Author

Lionel Reiter Nazario was born on Long Island, in the state of New York. After the birth of his brother, Andre', his family moved to the finger lakes region of central New York. The sparsely populated area allowed Lionel plenty of time and space to discover and develop his affinity for words. Attending school in Watkins Glen, his teachers repeatedly told him that he had potential as a writer, but were largely ignored by the bookworm boy who had by then grown into a distracted and short-sighted teenager. Lionel joined the U.S. Army combat engineer corps and trained at Fort Leonard-Wood, Missouri before attending college in Corning, New York. The experiences made him both stronger and wiser, and began to steer him back toward his nearly forsaken passion for the written word. Foolish mistakes from his teen years and double-dealing small-town justice came together in a perfect storm that swept Lionel into state prison during the summer of 2000. Once there, with nothing but time on his hands, he devoted himself to improving mind and body, and scrawled the first lines of several original stories. Mr. Nazario was released early and wasted little time before packing up and moving to New York City. SInce then he has worked as a waiter, an actor, a model, and built a successful business teaching self-defense and fitness. The birth of his son, Leonardo, served as a catalyst for his return to writing. Becoming a virtual hermit, he dedicated almost every spare minute to creating a book from one of the many ideas he had jotted down in the preceding years. After a year of writing and a year of searching for a publisher who would deign to look upon his work, luck and opportunity finally came together for Mr. Nazario when London publisher Datum took an interest in his tale.
