About the Author

My name is Laurel Hare. I am a chiropractor who has been practicing for 11 years in a small rural town in the middle of the USA called Neodesha, KS. Prior to becoming a chiropractor, I studied Chinese medicine, acupuncture, kinesiology, and massage therapy. I had a strong background in anatomy prior to making the leap to chiropractic college.
While I was at Cleveland Chiropractic College, I had the opportunity as an off-curriculum student to learn acupuncture further enough to be certified. As students, we had a company that was on campus frequently and offered nutrition classes for students at no charge. I jumped on that opportunity. I also made some close friends with off-campus doctors who invested extra time to impart books and knowledge to me because I was one of those people who had to know “why”? If I don’t know the “why,” I really don’t understand yet.
One of the things I learned while I was young in the program was about vaccine injuries. WHAT? I had never heard of such a thing. While I didn’t say anything to be disrespectful, I was pretty indignant on the inside that they would tell me after I had dutifully vaccinated myself and my children that I could have, in fact, injured them. I had to let that set in my head and cook for a long time.
Let’s just say that by the time I started working at clinics with people in real life and hearing their stories, I began to believe that some people have, in fact, been harmed by vaccines. At the time, I didn’t know how important this acceptance of facts was. I went to chiropractic college after my last child graduated high school, so I was the oldest person in my class, but not in the entire school. Right after I graduated and got back home to open my own practice, the unthinkable happened. I had a beautiful, happy, and active grandson suffer a vaccine injury. I knew in my heart pretty quickly what had happened. However, I had to take a back seat to his momma and let her steer his course of action. Everyone had an opinion, and she had heard them all, including mine. After walking trustfully down a trail with Birth-to-3 counselors who would come to her house and hint for her to accept that my grandson had become autistic. I heard one with my own ears say to my daughter, “Sometimes children just wake up with autism when they get around age two.” Hogwash! I was watching this little boy become non-responsive.
