About the Author

Margaret Reynolds is the state manager of National Disability Services in Tasmania and the president of the United Nations Association of Australia. She is a former member of Australian Parliament and former professor of human rights and international politics at the University of Queensland. Carmen Lawrence is a federal member of the Division of Freemantle, an Australian Electoral Division in Western Australia. She is the former premier of Western Australia and was the first woman to become premier of an Australian state.
