This updated 7th edition has everything needed for students to be fully prepared to answer every type of question found on the NCLEX. More than 600 questions include multiple-response, drag-and-drop, hotspot, audio, chart, graphic option, and fill-in-the blank questions. Also included are two comprehensive tests with 100 questions each. Rationales are clear and detailed and cover correct as well as incorrect answers. Test-taking strategies help students dissect each question to its core components and provide keys to choosing the right answer. The book reviews all the topics covered on the actual NCLEX-RN, as evidenced by the identification of the Client Need and associated Activity Statement for all questions.

Hundreds of questions at the application level or above prompt active learning and higher-order thinking. Description: The seventh edition review guide provides the most up-to-date content available on the NCLEX-RN examination. The book consists entirely of what makes students most apprehensive: the alternate-format question style. The sixth edition was published in 2016.
Purpose: The purpose of this review guide is to help current nursing graduates gain the confidence they need to excel during their licensure examination. Alternate-format questions can be difficult; this guide concentrates on providing comprehensive practice experience that includes the quantity and quality needed for successful passing of the exam.
Audience: This guide is intended for anyone preparing to take the NCLEX-RN examination. As many nursing programs have started to incorporate more alternate-format questions into their own exams, the review book may also be useful to students during their nursing programs. The author has produced an excellent resource for any NCLEX study plan.
Features: This review guide includes every type of alternate-format question: audio, graphic, fill-in-the-blank, chart, hotspot, drag-and-drop, and multiple-response. It begins with tips on how to prepare for the NCLEX, followed by five sections dedicated to specific areas within nursing. Topics include fundamentals, medical-surgical, neonatal, pediatric, and mental health. Two substantial comprehensive tests are included. Each question includes the answer with rationale, a difficulty rating, test-taking strategy, and category/subcategory to help direct the study plan. A detachable bookmark with test-taking tips is also included. It can be used to block the answer and rationale, which are included on the same page, so no flipping back and forth is required.
Assessment: Traditional multiple-choice format questions are commonly seen throughout education programs; the alternate-format questions included in the NCLEX guide likely present a less familiar challenge. This comprehensive guide allows for targeted practice with what are usually considered the more difficult questions on the exam.
