About the Author

Pamela C. Nwokeji is an African American poet, writer, and author of Lilac Bush, a new book combining a
poetic memoir with a voice of concern for the societal state of today’s African American culture.

Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Pamela tells of joyful experiences growing up in Roxbury, as well
as honest, poetic descriptions of events that have directly affected her or her loved ones. She shares
these experiences with readers in the hope that they can become a catalyst for change in the lives of
others.

Through her poetry, Pamela gives readers encouragement and leads them to a path of success through
education, hard work, and perseverance. She also shares her spiritual journey and the strength she has
obtained through her relationship with God.
