About the Author

John Robert Elsom (1891-1951) was a Canadian-born U.S. author of British descent. He was born on April 16, 1891, the son of Robert Albin Elsom and Mary Esther Carter Elsom. He married Mable Elsom at age 22, and the couple had two daughters. Residing in California, Elsom died of a heart attack in Inglewood, California on January 27, 1951, aged 59. He was buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, Los Angeles, California.
