THE ADVERSARY
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. Greetings. Often in this modern society, a heavy weight boxing match comes along and catches the public attention. What could be more exciting than to watch two guys try to kill each other? This spectacle is usually followed by both fighters: proclaiming themselves winners and hugging each other. The greatest battle we'll ever fight won't be fought in some ring but in our mind and there can be only one winner. 1 Corinthians 15:57
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. This victory comes at a heavy price: your thinking or righteousness in this world. The world represents your mind in the Bible, not a physical place. 1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
