Overview

THIS BOOK IS SEPARATED INTO TWO PARTS: FICTION AND NONFICTION

FICTION
Life of Bougie could be described as a combination of the writing styles of Erma Bombeck and Terry McMillan.

Tina West is a gossip columnist/writer. In her second book, she has to leave the country due to a scandal caused by her relationship with a celebrity. She is persuaded to go to South Korea. A new and wonderful world is opened up to her. However, as there always is with Tina West, there is still more wackiness and adventure to be found.

NONFICTION

This book is my guide and love letter to Korea. This has actual travel information chapters. More and more people are becoming curious about this country. I had an unexpected opportunity to visit and I have revisited many times. There is so much to see and do. The people are kind and helpful. So, this guide talks about food, places to visit, and other interesting information that someone would want to know before visiting this intriguing place.

About the Author

About the Author
Alexis I. Dragon moved to New York City to attend a university and pursue a life in the arts. She has been a performer, songwriter, and business woman. Life of Bougie was influenced by her life, people around her, and events and situations she has been privy to in some way in New York City. Like the main character, Tina West, she is a black woman who grew up in an affluent, predominantly white suburb near D.C. before moving to Manhattan and has worked in various parts of the entertainment industry. Also, like Tina, she seems to wind up in some very unusual situations, including meetings with famous people.
