About the Author

Born in a tiny neighborhood but with a huge, innocent heart full of promise, doe-eyed Chakia Pauling was reared in the heart of the city of Columbia, South Carolina: Edisto Court. Surrounded by influential peers who attempted to sway her into mischief, not satisfied with the norm and destined to carve her own path, Chakia found solace and purpose and an escape in poetry written from the depths of her personal, relatable experiences.
