Life Lessons and Hopes: A Boy Grows Up In Baltimore
As a young boy growing up in Baltimore we were taught about the great men of history. They were the paradigm of good behavior, the leaders of the good life.

One day it occurred to me that the people most important in my life, most influential, were not these men of the books but my mom and dad, uncles, aunts, friends, and animals.

But for some reason I was always off to the side watching and listening to life around me but more importantly observing people who taught me much about life with a closed mouth leading by example.

Later in life I met people who became more than just people. They too stood among those important and influential. Their lives assisted me in putting a face on what I learned as a young child and man from these important and influential people.

Their lives are no less worthy than the stories of the dead people of the history books. Actually, their lives may be more worthy. Their stories should be told.

Your life, the reader of these words, is no different. Let me introduce you to these people and see if you agree.

About the Author

I am a lawyer in Baltimore having spent my life representing the poor and working poor. Having grown up in Baltimore to hard class parents I came to appreciate life is created not by the rich and the so-called trail blazers. My ideas and beliefs I believe are probably the same as you.
