Overview

Sir Joseph Dalton Hooker was a British Botanist and Explorer. He was Director of the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew for 20 years. He is the founder of Geographic Botany and was close friend of Charles Darwin. This book covers his journeys to the Antarctic, New Zealand, India (including the Himalayas), as well letters to Darwin and other parts of his early life. It also covers much of his scientific work, his Presidency of the Royal Society, Darwinian interests as well as his work during his retirement.
