‘I Feel…’ is a fun and engaging picture book focussing on emotion for early years development. Lickit the Lizard is an adorably cute chameleon that changes colour depending on the emotion he is feeling. When Lickit discovers what he believes to be another lizard, but is actually his shadow, he goes through a range of emotions while attempting to interact with the strange figure. This book is a delight to read with young children and a useful aid in helping kids to identify different feelings and emotions.
Writer and illustrator Dr. Boz has meticulously designed this book to help children beater understand emotion. The character of Lickit has been given over-exaggerated facial expressions in order to accentuate 16 different emotions he feels throughout the story. The various colours Lickit turns also reflect common colour/emotion associations (eg. blue for Sadness, red for anger, etc.) The different fonts used have also been selected to help identify the meaning of each emotion.
