INTRODUCTION
Conquering the great continent of Europe is no easy task. Many have tried—from Julius Caesar to Napoleon—and all have failed. That’s why you’ve come to us. We’ve been criss-crossing the continent for 57 years, smelling out the sightliest sights and the homiest hostels, and now, dear reader, we will pass on all of our knowledge to you. Let’s get this show on the road with the travel coverage chapters—the meat of any Let’s Go book.

We’ll start off with Austria, where you can embark on your own Alpine adventure, a la The Sound of Music. From there, we trek on over to feast on frites in Belgium, enjoy Adriatic views in Croatia, and take in the old-world magic of the Czech Republic. Get a little closer to The Little Mermaid and its author, Hans Christian Anderson, in Denmark. Trek to France to explore fine art and finer dining, and meet Beethoven and Berliners in Germany. We cross the Channel to get our fill of Beefeaters and double-decker buses in Britain, make a pit stop at the Parthenon in Greece, and head north to Hungary’s thermal baths before returning to the Emerald Isle to drink Guinness over Joyce.
