About the Author

Jill Maddrell is an actress and writer currently residing in Los Angeles. Being an actress herself, she understands both the craft and the business very well. After writing her own monologues for a period of time, she realized that she didn't want to stop there. Why just write monologues for herself? Why not write them for other people who need a voice?

So her journey began. The more and more she wrote, the more she realized that monologues are these hidden rants inside all of us. It is this thing that eats away at us every day that we are just dying to let out until that moment where something or somebody just makes us let it all go. That is why they are so powerful. Whether it is a moment of anger, a confession, or simply desperation, we (meaning the audience or the world if you’d like) are able to see and hear a character’s truth. That is why we connect. Because in this world, the truth is something we all feel but rarely say.

These monologues were all originally written by her. She invites everybody reading them to "let them speak to you".
